Happy Five Things Friday! This week my husband’s family is in town for a visit. I’m really glad to have family visit because it gives me the opportunity to get away for some ‘me time’ haha. The weather has been wet but hot so I hope to get outdoors this weekend for some walks to the park, and maaaaybe even an evening out alone with my hubs for date night, which we haven’t had since December of last year. I’m thinking sushi and a movie might be nice. Hopefully, we can do it!
On to FTF #3!
1. St. Tropez Self Tan Express Mousse
My legs have been needing some extra help in the tanning department because… capri leggings. I started out this summer looking like I was wearing tan socks over white legs (would you call that a reverse tan line? lol). This self tan mousse has definitely helped take care of all of my glow-in-the-dark paleness, and it doesn’t look like I rolled around in a bunch of Doritos. The mousse itself is an olive green color, and gives your skin that lovely olive tan instead of that fake orangey stuff. To apply, just exfoliate and clean your skin, then massage into the skin with a tanning glove. Then you let it sit for 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for medium, and 3 hours for a darker tan. Once you’ve achieved the color you want, you shower it off and let it develop over the next 8 hours. It lasts for about a week. It’s not cheap, but it’s mousse so one bottle can last quite a while.
2. Starchild Tarot
I love tarot and the Starchild Tarot Akashic Deck is probably one of the most beautiful decks I’ve seen. It’s very ethereal and feminine and uses a lot of hidden symbols like sacred geometry and astrological charts. I am so happy I decided to purchase this deck because I feel it probably speaks to me the clearest of all of my decks. I bought the smaller version, but it also comes in a larger size. Both are stunningly gorgeous. The guidebook is also very intuitive and in-depth, which is great for readers of all levels. Check it out their Instagram and their website for more info.
3. Into the Water by Paula Hawkins (audiobook version)
I’ve decided to read one book per month, mostly audiobooks because they are easier when I’m constantly chasing my child everywhere. I’m a big fan of thrillers with a female lead, and I thought The Girl on the Train was pretty good so I wanted to give her new book a try. I’ll admit that it bounces around a lot, with timelines and different character viewpoints, so it can be difficult to follow if you’re like me and not always listening at 100%. I had to go back and re-listen to a couple chapters but the book was great. I recommend it for my fellow crime/thriller readers.
If you know anything about me, you know that I’m a tea snob. I’m ashamed/not ashamed to admit when I lived in Houston, the Teavana people knew me. But now that we’ve moved to a smaller city I’ve found myself without a tea room. That was… Until Tea2Go opened up literally a couple minutes from my house. So hooked. They have tea available “on tap” and also a premium section that you can have brewed and customized just for you. They also sell their tea by the gallon and I buy one every week. And now the all the Tea2Go ladies know me by name…
Pushbullet is probably one of the few apps I cannot live without. It’s seriously the most amazing thing everrr, especially for those of us who find ourselves constantly switching between our computers, tablets, and smartphones. Pushbullet allows me to respond to texts from my computer, or send any kind of file immediately between all of my devices, or receive notifications across all platforms whenever I need. I seriously love this app, and bonus: it’s free!
What is something you’re looking forward to this weekend?
