This week has thrown me for a loop. My son managed to get over his sickness last weekend, but now it’s my turn to enjoy a stuffy nose, a voice like a frog, and a congested cough. Thank goodness I’ve avoided the fever part but I’m ready for it to be over now. You hear that, head cold?! We’re through here. Goodbye!
Next week, my brother is coming to visit from Oregon and my monster is officially turning two so there’s been a bit of preparation going on this week. I feel like I can never get on top of all of the cleaning though. One room gets clean, another gets trashed by the monster… To those of you who appear to have your house clean all the time, I don’t believe it! FESS UP! You’re a hot mess just as much as the rest of us!
Okay… enough rants. Onto this week’s FTF post 🙂
1. Mr. B's Necessities Lavender Facial Mist and Toner
This face mist is lovely. It’s a super refreshing as a post-workout pick-me-up, or like this week when the area around my nose has been super red and raw from my head cold. The lavender is very soothing to my skin and the smell is very relaxing. You can find it here.
2. Melissa & Doug Write and Spell Magnetic Chalkboard
My 2yo has been very interested in his alphabet lately. He spotted this in Target during one of our “quick” runs and he couldn’t take his eyes off of it. The board is magnetic and so are the letters so he can practice arranging his words. I love Melissa & Doug products. None of them have disappointed me yet. Get it at your local Target or online here.
3. Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger Herbal Tea
This tea is probably one of my favorites of all of the Celestial Seasonings teas. It’s lemony and pleasantly tart from the hibiscus. The tea itself is a gorgeous ruby red color. I’ve been sipping on this all week to sooth my sore throat. It’s caffeine-free so it’s a great evening drink. Get it in your local grocery store or here.
4. I have a little admirer
One of my fitness moms has the cutest little 4yo who apparently came up to her in the store with this little dinosaur stuffed animal and told her he wanted to give it to me for Valentine’s Day. He gave it to me this week with he cutest little bashful smile and my heart exploded. I think my husband has some competition haha. The kid has moves! Now I just have to figure out how to hide this from my own toddler so he doesn’t steal my chocolate or my stuffed dinosaur! Gah, kids are just too cute sometimes.
5. Little Remedies Sore Throat Lollipops
These lollipops are made with honey and pectin to help soothe a sore throat. It’s not meant to treat any illness, but it did help my little man calm down his cough he was sick. Most cough products are meant for ages 4+, so I was happy to find something that could help a younger child. Z is obsessed with lollipops so finding these was a win-win for us. Yes the box says 3+ and my little guy is two, but he is very good about sucking on lollipops and we watch him the whole time. It does contain honey so while it’s okay for my little guy while under complete supervision, I stress that it is NOT okay for anyone younger than 2.
How has your New Year been treating you so far? I'd love to know.
