Good morning and Happy Five Things Friday, fam! I hope you all have had a good week. I've been feeling a bit heavy-hearted about what happened Sunday night in Las Vegas and it's been on my mind all week. What happened was just so... pointless. It hurts my heart so much to think that I knew people who were in Vegas when this happened. It just shakes me to my core how someone can be so heartless.
I'm sorry to begin this with such a sad tone, but felt wrong not to mention it. To find out how you can help the victims, please visit: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/las-vegas-shooting-victims-how-to-help/
Anything you can give, no matter how small, can make a difference.
Okay, onto some lighter notes...
1. Les Mills BodyPump Assessment Video
I've FINALLY managed to wrap up my filming for my Les Mills BodyPump assessment video. Due to technical difficulties, I was forced to ask for a two-week extension to film. So the video has been sent off and *fingers crossed* it's good enough to get me a passing grade. Les Mills is no joke. They train their instructors hard and hold them at very high standards. It's ensures that every participant can engage in a safe and effective workout. Thank you for being tough on us, Les Mills!
2. In a Dark, Dark Wood Audiobook
I just started this book and it has had me hooked since the first chapter. I'm a sucker for a good mystery/thriller/crime book. It's about a writer with a hidden past who is invited to a bachelorette party for a woman she has lost touch with. Secrets start to spill, and things take a turn for the worst, i.e. murder. Ruth Ware has a way of keeping the reader on his or her toes. I haven't finished the book yet, but I wanted to share because so far it's pretty enticing.
3. H-E-B Sparkling Water
Move over La Croix, this momma's got a new favorite fancy water! H-E-B's sparkling water is EXACTLY like La Croix but literally half the price. Now if I can just get the Hubs to stop stealing all of my favorite flavors.
4. J. Roddy Walston and the Business' Destroyers of the Soft Life Album
I adore the band SO much. The Wanting has been on repeat these past couple weeks. I love their easy Southern rock/American dance tunes. Super easy listening. It's impossible to be sad when listening to them. Plus, J.Roddy Walston's raw, sometimes raspy vocals are one of my favorite sounds of any band.
5. This Quote from Geneen Roth
I've been working very hard on this concept of self-love for the past few months. It has been super hard but has also been incredibly eye-opening for me. I found this quote from @hurststrengthct on Instagram.
"Only love leads to love."
