June’s #30in30challenge — Are You In?

Today is the first day of June and I’m excited to announce a small challenge that I’m doing with my local fit moms group, called the #30in30challenge. All it entails is doing 30 minutes of activity for 30 days. 

The goal of this challenge is to help you establish a habit of getting up off your butt every day. And any activity counts! Some examples:

✩ Taking a walk
✩ Swimming
✩ Biking
✩ An at-home workout
✩ Dancing (to The Fitness Marshall Youtube videos!)
✩ Going to the gym / group classes
✩ Playing with your kids at the park
✩ Playing a sport
✩ Running
✩ Anything else that gets you moving

Remember, you don’t have to go crazy. Something as simple as a walk every day can make a huge difference in your energy, your mood, your sleep, and more! The science says that healthy habits are more likely to last if you focus on systems instead of goals, which is why we created this challenge. You may have some goals in mind, like weight loss or getting outdoors more often, but it’s the system that gets you there. As James Clear says: “Goals are about the short-term result. Systems are about the long-term process. In the end, process always wins.”

Also, remember to start small. Don’t take on too much all at once, or none of it will stick. Baby steps are the key, which is why we only ask for 30 minutes of your time doing anything that gets your heart rate elevated. Eventually, with consistent practice, this habit will become part of your everyday routine!
